Yesterday’s Meeting of the Titans was a session which highlighted the principle of living without compromise.
The Member in focus is very passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and care, as well as creating an outstanding team culture. He thrives on learning, growth and delivering outcomes which align with his core values within the business; to deliver an exceptional experience for customers at a fraction of the cost of competitors. His company is a big player in the trade services industry in Perth, and he is laying the groundwork currently for expansion interstate and then nationally.
He highlighted a couple of areas that he wanted input on from myself and the brain’s trust. One being how best to handle a division of his business which is managed by a partner and isn’t currently operating in total alignment with the values he is so passionate about, and the other being an inquiry into power vs force.
With further discussion both elements became clear as an opportunity to explore how he could live without compromise, achieving all the outcomes that were really important to him.
For the division of his business that he had shared wasn’t in total alignment with the rest, he came to a solution which was a win-win scenario for all of those involved. This enabled him to tick the boxes of feeling really good about the outcome he could facilitate for others, whilst also getting the result that was important for himself and his business.
The second area of inquiry took us into the bigger questions of where he was at, where he was ultimately heading and what the real story was for him, opening up a great conversation that took us beyond business. The brain’s trust shared valuable insights, experience and wisdom related to national expansion, creating balance between different drivers within ourselves, as well as sharing their own inquiries into what they are wanting after the expansions, achievements and exits are complete – when the dust settles.
What emerged was an understanding that these questions cannot generally be solved by applying logic and reason; they involve inner reflection and the allowing of a higher form of guidance, which some call intuition, something we assist leaders to develop within the Club.
Achieving the balance between satisfying the part of us that loves to be productive, active and creating growth and outcomes, as well as the part of us that seeks presence, peace and fulfilment, being another example of living without compromise.
