Yesterday’s Meeting of the Titans session was a place for vulnerable and honest sharing which benefitted us all. The culture within the Club is one of depth and genuine interest in one another, past the usual boundaries of more professional interactions, and therefore it is normal for our discussions to be real and relatable and is where much of the connection and camaraderie comes from.
In this instance, the Member in focus took things to a deeper level in terms of personal challenges he was experiencing which were impacting his enjoyment and sense of direction and purpose in life and work.
He shared openly and was vulnerable about his current experience, even though he had previously felt unsure about doing so; which delivered a lot of benefit for him and those of us in attendance. He allowed himself to have the experience of being ‘held’ by his peers and they relished the opportunity to support him as a highly respected and loved Member of the Club.
The journey of life (and business) is less enjoyable when taken alone. It certainly isn’t anywhere near as much fun and can be infinitely harder without the support, wisdom and resources of fellow successful business leaders who truly get your world.
Having a group of like-minded leaders to lean into for support with challenges or to celebrate wins is truly inspiring and something I am grateful to be able to facilitate and be a part of.
