In yesterday’s Exponential Possibilities, house Futurist Craig Rispin delivered a deep dive into the systematic application of AI, including a road map to develop the range of tasks we are using AI for, and how to start from the beginning for those who are yet to take the plunge.
He explained for those non-techs who may be beginning to feel like dinosaurs (as some of the leaders he consults to have said), the tech gap is actually closing and now it is possible to create complex App Stacks enabling you to get actions completed through multiple tools without any knowledge of coding. All you need is to be able to ask for exactly what you want. This is the art of prompting.
The power of AI is in firstly knowing what is possible, secondly knowing exactly how and what to implement into your specific organisation, and lastly how to ask for what you want it to do, by delivering effective prompts, or having someone in your Team who can do that if it’s not your thing. (If there’s no one obvious, usually 18-25 year olds are a good bet to pick it up more quickly, as they are ‘digital natives’ and in most cases find this stuff easier to understand).
Another key piece is the idea that we no longer need to invest time and money in finding the all-singing, all-dancing platform that does absolutely everything we want, and in fact the smart money now is in looking for simple and light touch options which you can then easily integrate with others to get the specific and desired result that you are looking for.
It’s a great feeling to have someone in our corner helping us to navigate the rapid changes, especially when he is so dedicated to providing tailored solutions for different industries, business models and leadership styles.
Whether you are an AI lover, or still not convinced, understanding the uses and applications of AI in your business is becoming increasingly important and valuable.
