
In yesterday’s Meeting of the Titans, the Member in focus used his time with the Brains Trust to work through plans for a national sales strategy, to strengthen the position of his WA based business in VIC, QLD and NSW.
We spent time understanding his structure, perspective, current position and the limitations he was wanting to move beyond, before providing experience, suggestions, solutions and contacts to support both the clarification and realisation of his ideal pathway.
A lot of ground was covered across many areas, and amongst the brilliant contributions were some of those simple, yet profound nuggets that seem so obvious once spoken, that they can often leave us wondering how we didn’t think of them ourselves (you know the ones).
Firstly, assistance with managing the cash flow needed for fast growth in two new states simultaneously, by looking for semi-retired sales people in each state who have lots of industry contacts and know-how, but are more likely to want to work 20 hours a week, instead of full time.
And secondly, supporting his sales training needs (and as the Member who recommended it does with his salesperson) to have one of his younger salespeople watch a 10 minute or so length YouTube video, on the topic of sales, every morning before he starts on his sales activities. These would be chosen by himself and could be on cold-calling, or closing etc to support him in getting into the zone, whilst providing training in the form of exposure to different sales styles and techniques in an engaging way.
Both brilliant ideas. and only two of the many shared in the session.
After years of experience in business, we are all sitting on golden nuggets of this type, which we possibly take for granted as being obvious, but are in fact incredibly valuable to others. It’s in the sharing that the value becomes apparent 🙂
