In yesterday’s Meeting of the Titans, our Member in focus shared with us the inner workings of his Property Development company and the deals he puts together for investors and vendors.
He chose to enlist the Brain’s Trust’s help to look at a restructure to his model, in order to smooth out his cash flow and increase funding opportunities. The Brain’s Trust was in their usual wonderful form and delivered amazing insight, strategies, solutions and contacts to support his desired outcome.
One of this Member’s particular skills has been his ability to navigate the recent tougher times in property and adapt where necessary to keep his business thriving. However, it became apparent that this period had left him with some unrecognised fallout which you may relate to.
The potential downside of being amazing at pivoting and adapting during turbulent weather, is that we can end up a bit off course from where we had originally intended to go. In this case, the Member had compromised on some of his ideal scenarios over the last period and had not made decisive moves to reset for the original course.
It sometimes takes a conscious reflection and decision once the storm has passed to come out of the bunker, dust yourself off and get back on track to your ideal destination. And sometimes it just needs someone who cares to check in and remind you of what was always important to you.
Of course, the only outcome if we are heading towards a compromised dream, is a compromised reality, so it’s worth taking a minute to consider whether the last few years have had you adapt or compromise in any way that may have you slightly off course?
